Meet Molly

Molly Lenty is a proven community builder ready to lead Garden City forward.

Molly is an entrepreneur, wife and mother, and civil servant with more than twenty five years of community leadership. After a long career in corporate financial services as a Vice President of Government and Community Relations across five states, she chose to direct her experience to mission driven work that puts people and results first.

Today she serves as Chief Operating Officer of a Boise software company that advances U.S. manufacturing. Her work spans organizational transformation, philanthropy, cross sector collaboration, volunteer leadership, and service programs that move ideas into measurable outcomes.

Molly is twice elected to the College of Western Idaho Board of Trustees and served two terms as Chair. She is skilled in board governance and workforce solutions and brings a disciplined, data informed approach to problem solving. She serves as Vice Chair for Idaho Business for Education and as Idaho State Director for Right On Crime, where she advances practical criminal justice initiatives with a focus on second chance hiring.

Her community leadership includes service with Faces of Hope Victim Center, United Way of Treasure Valley, Boys and Girls Club of Nampa, the College of Western Idaho Foundation, and the Treasure Valley Education Partnership, along with more than a decade of policy and workforce committee work with the Boise Metro Chamber. She helped launch the Idaho Treasurer’s Smart Women Smart Money leadership spotlight, created the Red Cross Hometown Heroes luncheon, directed the Boise Twilight Criterium for ten years, led the Winter Games of Idaho for a decade, managed federal grants, and chaired successful school bond and levy campaigns.

Molly’s work has earned recognition from the Women’s and Children’s Alliance as a TWIN recipient, from the Idaho Business Review as Accomplished Under 40 and Women of the Year with Circle of Excellence honors, and from the Boise Metro Chamber as Distinguished Alumni Leader. She is also recognized among Idaho’s Top 500 in business and industry.

Her roots in Garden City run deep. Her husband, Kelly Martin, is a Garden City native who owns a local HVAC and plumbing company and a sheet metal shop, and serves as President of the Thurman Mill Ditch Company that runs the length of the city. They have three adult children and spend free time with their two dogs on their hobby farm off Chinden, on the Greenbelt, and exploring Idaho in every season.

As mayor, Molly will bring steady leadership, fiscal discipline, and a collaborative style that unites residents, businesses, and community partners. She is ready to keep Garden City safe, foster business prosperity, protect what makes our neighborhoods special, and guide growth with clear priorities and accountability..
